Age Check & Legal
Turn on age verification, manage checkout ID photos, add ID face thumbnails to documents, and publish legal links.

What this page does
Cannabis stores usually need to check that customers are old enough to buy. This page lets you put an age wall on your store, ask for ID at checkout, decide whether face thumbnails from uploaded IDs appear on invoices and packing slips, and link to your legal pages.
Age Wall
When you turn this on, a popup appears before anyone can see your store. They have to say "Yes, I am old enough" before they can browse. If they say no, they can't get in.
Minimum Age: Set the age they must be. The default is 21. You must fill this in when the age wall is turned on — leaving it blank will show an error.
Once someone confirms their age, they usually don't get asked again on the same phone or computer.
ID Photo at Checkout
You can ask customers to upload a photo of their government ID (like a driver's license) when they place an order.
- None
- No ID asked for. Checkout works normally.
- Optional
- Customers see an upload box but can skip it. They can still place an order without uploading anything.
- Mandatory
- Customers must upload an ID photo or they can't finish their order. Use this if your local rules require it.
Privacy: Uploaded IDs are stored privately. Only you can see them, inside each order's detail page.
Faces on Invoices & Packing Slips
If you collect ID photos, you can also turn on Add faces to invoices and packing slips. When enabled, DabDash extracts a small face thumbnail from the uploaded ID and places it on generated PDF order documents.
This helps drivers or fulfilment staff verify that the printed paperwork is attached to the right order without exposing the full ID image on the document itself.
Leave this setting off if your process does not require visual verification on printed paperwork. The original uploaded ID still remains available on the order for staff review.
Legal Links
Paste in web addresses for your Terms of Service page and Privacy Policy page.
When you fill these in: Links show up in the footer of your store so customers can read them.
When you leave them blank: No legal links appear. The footer looks clean without them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enable age verification on my DabDash storefront?
Go to Settings → Compliance, enable the age verification wall, set the minimum age requirement (typically 19 or 21 depending on your jurisdiction), and save. New visitors must confirm their age before they can browse any part of your store.
Can I require customers to upload ID at checkout in DabDash?
Yes — in Settings → Compliance, set ID Verification to Optional (customers can choose to upload government ID) or Mandatory (ID photo is required before checkout completes). ID images are stored securely and visible in the order detail.
Can I add the customer face from an uploaded ID to invoices and packing slips?
Yes. Turn on Add faces to invoices and packing slips in Settings → Compliance and DabDash will include a small face crop from uploaded IDs on the generated PDF documents. Leave it off if you do not want that extra visual verification on printed paperwork.
